Chairperson’s Message

A Message from The Australasian Divisional Chairperson

To all members of the British Institute of Embalmers Australasian Division:

I would like to wish everyone a very happy new year and welcome to 2023. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our members, new and old. I would like to thank Jacqui Wright and Michael Hopkins for their amazing support over the last year. A big thank you also goes to Ian Mellor for all of his efforts and contributions to the newsletters, which does take a lot of time and effort.

State Meetings:

We are up and running for 2023, so please keep an eye out for upcoming CPDs – we would love to see you all there.

We apologise for the lack of info being presented to members during these recent covid times. The social media pages have been difficult to access. But, we are very pleased to announce there will be a newly designed Facebook Page up and running very soon, so please keep an eye out for it, as new information will be posted there.

I would also like to thank our sponsors, and our members, new and old for their assistance in our upcoming workshop.

To all embalmers let us remember:

Embalmers have a tremendous responsibility to those whom we serve, our outcomes depend on how we perform our duties. It is a privilege that we are trusted by the family to look after their loved ones.

As the staff in our University always say, “Always act as if the family is present”.

We must always remember the community and family with whom we serve. Our division believes that education is the key and learning from one another is how we gain experience and achieve our goals in this very difficult industry.

We never stop learning.

MICHAEL HODGES, MBIE
